Garbage... On my 4th service call in 4 months!

I will keep this short since my experience has been so frustrating. Ice-maker and water dispenser not working properly since 1 month after purchase. Kitchenaid has sent some sub-contracted technicians 3 times and they have gone back with fixes that have not worked for more than a day. Last time I was told after the 3rd service call they will replace it if it is not fixed... It is not fixed and now they want to send another service guy. There is also visible ice build up around the vent going into the fridge (from freezer) which the service tech has always noted in his notes as not a problem. It is partly my fault I bought this fridge despite the bad reviews, the salesman said Kitchenaid has recalled the model and fixed it... There were not many counter depth options so I bought it and landed this lemon in my house. I guess they will not replace it and continue to frustrate me with repeated calls till I just throw this garbage out of my house. At least people should know what we are dealing with here.

This is a great fridge to choose if your kitchen can only accommodate a counter depth fridge. The lights are bright when the doors are opened so things don't get lost in the back. Very easy to keep clean. The ice maker is so fast!

We bought 6 months ago. We liked the features but were concerned about some reviews that mentioned leaking. We have not had that problem and are very happy. In retrospect, we would have liked a little more freezer space and a little less fridge. All in all, though, it has been great.

After 1 month i love it! Items are easy to get to, you can see everything you have. It stays nice and cold, our food seems to be lasting longer and staying fresher. The lighting is great. The pull out shelf and the soft close drawers are great. The water tastes great. The only 2 things that aren't great is the ice dispenser always seems to shoot a couple small ice pieces past the sides of our glass and lands on our floor. We've just been holding our hands on both sides to block them now. The second is we wish it had another ice maker or more capacity for ice...we just use a lot. Not game changers at all. It's a beautiful refrigerator.

Purchased this a few weeks ago, & I was hesitant based on other reviews. I am glad I chose this model. It is a nice refrigerator, quiet when making ice & love the features. Only complaint is that the freezer takes some time getting used to (I had a previous 3 door/drawer refrigerator & the freezer was bigger) Keeps food nice & cold, water on outside is very cold, ice cubes are small but perfect size.

Nothing but trouble. I purchased in October 2016, and have had nothing but claim after claim on my warranty. Unfortunately my warranty company mailed me a $500 check and said I have met my max claims. So now I have a fridge that is barely 3 years old that I have to manually defrost every 2 months! Who do I call when the warranty company turns me away? Never buying Whirlpool or Kitchenaid Products again!

We decided to replace our side by side refrigerator with a three door model and could not be happier with our decision. Our initial impression was that the freezer section was smaller than what we had. We were wrong. The capacity of both the refrigeration and freezer sections is huge with much more versatility in how they are used. We hear reports that this mode was very noisy and seals tend to fail quickly. It is to early to comment on the seals but the noise level is much lower than our previous KitchenAid side by side. Another favorite feature is the LED lighting in the refrigerator. It is very bright and pleasant. However, the same can't be said about the freezer lighting. When placing anything on one of the small top shelfs, the light is obstructed to the degree that it becomes ineffective. The light should be mounted on the side of the drawer.

We purchased this refrigerator for our new home just 3 months ago. It is extremely loud, the ice maker does not work at all and the inside is not very cold. So, we called KitchenAid for a service call and they can not dispatch someone for several weeks. It appears to be a one person firm and KitchenAide could care less about us waiting without the use of a fridge. There are many certified technicians is this county, however, they will not take a dispatch from KitchenAid or don't have a contract (whatever). Unfortunately, the customer is the one that suffers. My GE Profile never gave me a bit of trouble and is looking mighty good about now!! An additional worry is that if it needs parts .. how long will that take??

We renovated our kitchen and replaced every appliance with KitchenAid products. This fridge did not work correctly from the very beginning. It was struggling to hold temp and then eventually started blowing hot air after about a week. Had to go through warranty to basically get every major part replaced. We lost all of our food during this time, so it was extremely disappointing for something that costs as much as this! KitchenAid refused to replace it and instead sent a 3rd party out 3 times to fix it. Now that it works, it's been running fine, but it's like we purchased a brand new used fridge in the end. This is probably the last time I ever purchase KitchenAid unfortunately.

Wanted a counter depth refrigerator with a bottom freezer drawer. There are so many things I love about this refrigerator along with the fit in the space. The overall appearance is very pleasing, the interior lighting is very nice and bright, the ice cubes are the cutest, the space in the doors, and the organization in the freezer drawer. I gave this 4 vs 5 stars simply because the shelf that drops back to allow for taller items falls a bit short. I wish it were a bit higher to allow talker items under the shelf.

I loved Kitchenaid appliances and all their products until now, I ve never had so many issues with a fridge until purchasing the
KitchenAid 36" 23.76 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Ice and Water Dispenser - Stainless Steel Model: KRFC604FSS. We've owned this fridge for almost three years now and since purchasing it it's been nothing but a headache and problems. I've lost track on the amount of times I ve called PC Richards for repairs, from drying out the excessive ice built up, to the fridge leaking so much water that it leave large puddles of water causing us to slip and slide, the ice maker not working, the freezer needing a new valve and now the fridge needs what the tech called a 4 hour repair similar to an operation. All because the ice maker and a valve are both damaged. This caused the temperature in the fridge to change and we did not notice because according to the tech you would not know unless your using a special tool to take the temp of the fridge. This caused all our dairy to go bad which also made my 2 year old son and 4 old daughter sick because we were not aware the dairy they were consuming was undertemp. My kids had diarrhea for days because of this. Nothing was keeping fresh even in the freezer, not only did my kids get sick but we lost a lot of groceries too , a lot of money spent. Also lost many hours waiting for the repairs, when your a working parent this isn't easy.
Now, normally I do not have an issue with repairs I get it with today s technology nothing is perfect but a fridge shouldn't need so many repairs. The most latest much needed repair ( according to the PC Richards Tech) would take over four hours to complete, require two men and welding. The tech must open all the windows in the house because they need to repair the compressor (not sure what this is) and take the entire back apart. They were suppose to do this repair this past weds but the special tool needed was unavailable, something they did not know until mid day. So now they asked us to re schedule okay but when??? We cannot take anymore days off of work, they recommended coming at night after work, but we have two young kids one who was born with a lung issue, so there s no way I want to put him through dealing with this repair, smelling that strong Oder. Also , our house is a newly built home, the floors and the cabinets everything is new. The kitchen is not big enough for this repair to be conducted without destroying the cabinets, island or walls. There s no space. Thinking about it after figuring out the cost analysis of completing all the repairs ( past and the most current one that is needed): parts, time, labor , plus our time, groceries, meds and basic frustration ( spent the entire summer with a busted freezer and no ice maker) it would have been easier to get a new working fridge but according to pc richards , kitchenaid requires all these repairs , does not make any sense to me and just makes me annoyed for the first time in my life with kitchenaid. Therefore, save yourself time, frustration, money , etc and learn from us ... avoid buying this fridge. It's the biggest headache caused so many problems and you ll have more repair times than the fridge actually working. If I could I would go back in time and buy another brand.

Beware of all the positive reviews for this refrigerator!! So many of the positive reviews are incentivized! I purchased my refrigerator in April of 2017 and have had nothing but problems with the units ice maker since right after the one year warranty expired. I have been waiting over 3 months thru my extended warranty plan to get a new door for the refrigerator due to an issue with faulty wiring and still no end in site. This refrigerator is not worth the money or hassle. Run far far away!! I called kitchenaid to see if they could do anything as it's an expensive appliance and basically they were not helpful and said the warranty is expired!

I bought this kitchenaid French door fridge in Jan 2017 , we chose this fridge because of size, our kitchen limits us on the fridge we can chose and this fridge is the exact size we need. It looks beautiful, it matches well with my double wall oven but it has been nothing but a headache since. I regret this purchase! I've never had any problems with any of my pc richards items until this fridge. I lost count on the amount of times the fridge has leaked all over my kitchen floor causing a minor flood. I cannot count on the many times we wake up to soaked mats or floors. Slipping and sliding included. When we informed the repair guy he told us you can't keep the door open for more than 15 seconds or else the back would freeze up and the fridge would leak ????? So now, I have to time the amount of seconds the door is open???? I lost count on the amount of times I've cursed out this fridge. The freezer door handle breaks off easily. On several occasions, I ve called PCR for repairs, too many times if you ask me. Many repairs and parts ordered. From the compressor dying, ice built up, freezer not freezing properly ( everything is soft and damaged) , ice maker not working at all ( I'm going on 2 months and two different service companies and none have been able to repair the issue, waiting for PCR to see if they can repair it, fingers crossed) the ice maker has not worked in about two months and when I called PCR to inform them of the new issue I was told to wait to see if they can fix it. I've been waiting 2 years for the fridge to actually work. I lost count on the many hours I ve missed from work waiting for repairs or hours we lost cleaning the floors. The fridge is covered under warranty and PCR said they have to repair it before it can be replaced with a functioning fridge, I so basically I spent thousands to get a lemon and maybe hopefully a refurbished fridge , not happy at all with this. Do yourself a favor, learn from us, and do not buy this fridge. I thought maybe I had a lemon but after reading countless reviews ( after the purchase, of course .... yes we read reviews prior but none were negative) I ve learned I am not alone. I regret this purchase and can only hope and pray the fridge is repaired and finally works like it's suppose too because it's an expensive decor piece. I've never had any issues with any of my kitchenaid appliances until this headache / nightmare.

We bought 3 Kitchen Aid appliances this Spring. They were installed May 12th 2019.
Already, within three months we have had the ice maker on our $3700 refrigerator repaired and then ultimately replaced but the problem returned the VERY NEXT DAY! Kitchen Aid refuses to allow an exchange for a refrigerator with no exterior ice/water dispenser.
I absolutely hate this refrigerator. The ice maker freezes solid so it will not dispense ice, it leaks water around the edges of the ice cube container which then freezes , backs up and then leaks water down the inside of the fridge door and then onto our new solid wood floor!
DO NOT BUY a Kitchen Aid refrigerator. Model # is KRFC604FSS-01.
The repair person told me to just chip out the ice I needed from the solid block !!! YA......that's why I spent so much on a refrigerator!!!

Cartridge is installed properly. Already scheduled a technician to come and evaluate it . Poor design and performance.

Worst. Fridge. Ever. Bought new construction home May 2018 and the fridge sadly, came with the house. We've had this fridge go out multiple times within a YEAR! Yes, ONE year. We've had people out to fix it 4-5 times. The company Kitchen Aid uses to schedule to come out cannot come out earlier than a week and Kitchen Aid schedules separately from the actual time slots available within the company so I've had to rearrange my days multiple times for one fix. As a mother of 3 small children under 5, who drink milk constantly, this poses as a HUGE problem. ANY other appliance we could get by easily without working for a week, but a refrigerator?? It's impossible. Each time we had to cram our food in a back up mini fridge (which we bought after the second time it went out- learned a lesson) and cooler to buy ice daily so our food wouldn't ALL spoil each time, not to mention all the meals we had to eat out daily since cooking was so challenging. Wonder why there's all these positive reviews on such a horrible fridge... maybe because they gave out free refrigerators in exchange for a 5* review...? (Read other review). You couldn't pay me to have this fridge in my home again.

We paid a very pretty penny for this refridgerator in 2017. Less than 1.5 years the fridge goes dark. The technician just came in and he knew EXACTLY what was wrong with it. The 2017, or prior, models are all missing a refridgerator evaporator so the back of the fridge freezed and then it dies. It will cost you $700+++ to have this problem fixed. Luckily we have extended warranty by this is a LEMON of a product, and Whirpool should replace this faulty product for everyone.

Purchased this unit 18 months ago and are very disappointed with it, Doors have had to be tightened since day one, ice maker constantly freezes up and we have to work hard to get the ice out so it will start working again. Shelves are stationary so nothing large can fit anywhere but in the middle section where the shelf retracts. We are very sorry that we wasted 4K to get a lousy refrigerator.

This model is a lemon! We had the same problem others write about. There is a design flaw where a wire breaks that powers a heating coil that keeps the water lines feeding the ice maker from freezing. The entire left door had to be reordered which took 6 weeks. The repair was yesterday and now the water doesn't work! Now (after no trouleshooting) they are saying they need to order a circuit board that will take another 6 weeks.

Best Refrigerator I ever owned over the years. counter depth perfect you have a full well lite view of whole inside of refrigerator no hiding spots, easy to clean inside and out. cute little pots of ice in the ice maker. no complaints on this beautiful well planned refrig.

I purchased the suite of appliances and they look great, sadly I've had major issues with the regrigerator and the range. Lucky for me the control panel on the range stopped working within the first year so it was replaced for free while under warranty. Sadly both control boards on the refrigerator have to be replaces because it periodically just turns off and I can get it to reset by turning off power from the breaker. I'm kicking myself that I didn't purchase with my Amex card which would have extended the warraty. It's just not right that a machine two years old needs major and expensive repairs. So dissapointed.

Noisy loud refrigerator. Stopped working in 40 days. Now running behind Kitchenaidd to send service engineers to fix this.

We bought this about 6 months ago after getting tired of our old fridge by another competitor falling apart. We were looking for shelves that wouldn't crack, bend and fall apart. So far, so good. With counter depth not as much room, but we expected that.

This 3 door French Door Style will take some getting used to. The only fault that I can see is that the bottom right side of the left door, is about 1/8 of an inch in farther than the bottom of the right door.

After only 10 days of receiving this refrigerator the cooling system failed. We now have to wait for a replacement which is going to take a week. Would not recommend this at this point in time.
