The stove-top grates are awful.

The top grates are enamel-coated. Pots and pans slide around on them. Very dangerous. I sent an email to Amana and asked if there were other grates I could get that weren't enamel-coated. Of course, Amana never replied. Also, the oven racks are too wide. If you are baking mini-muffins, the muffin pans won't sit on the racks - they fall right through. Finally, one has to get down on the floor to use the broiler in this oven. It really sucks.

When I bought this range the burner grids were so uneven that you could barley use it to cook. The store that I purchased it from ordered new ones after 3 weeks I received the wrong ones. They reordered them and it took another 3 weeks.They much better but they are poorly made.

Good range, but you get what you pay for

Bought this from HD a month ago. No issues installing. Not a fan of the under-oven broiler. The back of the range vents the oven through open holes. You can actually see the glow from the flame; I am just trusting it does not get hot enough to affect the gasline. There are currently no issues with burners or 9ven from a cooking perspective. I like the fact it displays the oven temp while preheating and heat to 350 in about 5 minutes. I have one issue which I have not called about yet; using the right front burner causes the clock to reset... it's annoying but not a dealbreaker... yet. This was the cheapest range out there and works great for the money.

Our contractor inspected it for dents and scratches and installed it. The problem is now that we're back and using it, there IS NO BROILER PAN!! Home Depot referred us to the manufacturer...as in forget about it. So now I'm looking for the part on your website. Bummer!!

A few things. seems like only the low temp burner is sealed all others float to let debris in. 2nd and most important WHO designs a oven that has a fixed broiler door?? that is USELESS. i have had this 8 months now and will now have to buy another one that actually is a useful oven and broiler. bought it online, no one to blame but me. just never thought a fixed broiler door that does not slide out, dangerous anyone, but Amana does.

I completely agree with the "Poorly Designed" review from two years ago. I had my stove installed three days ago and have had problems with everything except boiling water. I've been cooking for over 35 years and have always used gas so I know what I'm doing. As he/she said, "The flame on all burners is too hot and too high." Even the "simmer" burner is too high. A service tech came and assured me that it is working as designed and that there was nothing he could do to lower the flame.

Getting used to the burner BTU's

Takes a little time to get used to burner layout. Oven racks have large spacings that allow smaller potatoes to fall through when baking. Don't think racks would support a 20 lb turkey. You need to make racks a little more rugged.

Very functional for the price

Was "forced" into buying new unit when range from previous owners died unexpectedly. Was looking for a VALUE range and have had this one for few months now. Great features for the price, would give it a 5, but one nit pick is when stove top is on highest setting the burners sound a little loud. I know, but it is a nit pick. Still a great value though. Temperature of the oven was validated with quality thermometer was right on target.

This range is a replacement from HWA. The oven works well. The stovetop is adequate. My two complaints are related to the burners and grates. I prefer individual grates for each burner, and the controls for three of the burners are not low enough on the lowest setting.

Nice Looking Range with Great Features

I bought this range in November and finally it was delivered in December. I did have some of the paint scratched off but it was right where the burner grate fits so it is covered up when the grate is on. I took me a while to get used to the settings, until I read the instructions on how to turn down the burners(mine were set too high). The oven took longer than my old range to cook, and I corrected that too by reading the instructions. Now everything is working great, although I am still getting used to putting my food on the correct rack level.

Not so Great

I bought this range because it was not "fancy". I did not want convection or self cleaning. I did not know I would be getting a really "cheap" product. I was not able to actually see the appliance in the store. I only saw what was illustrated online on their computer. I did not notice that the burners did not have individual grates. I have a lot of problems with this range. At installation I noticed that a corner of the range top was bouncing up and down. When another technician came back he found out that a clip on the stove top was missing to keep the top level. I asked him why the burners were so high. The burners cannot be adjusted low enough for my kind of cooking. The grates have warped from the flames. I have had replacements and those went bad too. My pans will not sit level on the grates, so cooking without burning one side of whatever it is I am cooking is impossible. I will not be able to use the broiler at all because it is too low for me. I am 83 and can't get that low to the floor anymore. My last range had the broiler in the top of the oven. I did not think to ask about this one. The electronic controls for the oven are very confusing compared to my last one. The oven burns too hot also and I have to keep a very close eye on whatever I am cooking. I am very sorry I purchased this range.

I purchased this range a week ago. What a disappointment!! One side is very dented, which outside packaging was not damaged, so to me that seems it was damaged before packaging. The top burner grates are so completely uneven I cannot get a single pot or pan to sit steady. I would not recommend this nor would I ever purchase an Amana product again!! Very poor product!!
